Acres Farm has 7 standard or stock leathers to
choose from. The fender seats may be covered in one of our stock
leathers at no additional charge. Other leather colors and suedes
are available by special order. We can also
upholster the seats in a material that you provide
(Customer's Own Material or C.O.M.). We can advise you on other
suitable upholstery materials, for example, woven horsehair,
which is very hard-wearing and comes in a wide range of designs
and colors, as well as kilims, needlepoint, etc.
Stock Leathers (Colors may not be true
depending on your monitor settings. We will be glad to send you
actual leather samples.)

Standard seat width is 7 inches. Wider seats can
be requested at an additional charge. Standard seat height is
generally 18 to 20 inches.
Seats on any of our fender styles may be button
tufted, but tufting is required on our Bow Front and Straight
Curved Front Styles.
Seat Guards can be fitted to the inside edges of
the seats to protect the upholstery from the heat of the fire.
They are fitted as standard on all Straight Styles, but are
especially recommended on seats not covered in leather, or
positioned
particularly close to the fire.
Seats are finished with nail heads or studs
which are available in a variety of finishes to complement your
fender.
Protection and Surface Finish
Brass fenders are highly polished after
manufacture. If not lacquered or regularly polished, brass will
darken naturally over time. Fenders need to be polished
regularly if they are to remain bright.
To avoid the need to polish, we can protect the
finish with a clear lacquer which is sprayed on and then
oven-baked at a very high temperature. This gives a long-lasting
finish, but needs to be treated with care as it is susceptible
to damage from steel heels, for example. Brushed steel will
never tarnish, and our satin black finish on steel fenders is
oven-baked.
A further alternative on Brass Fenders is a
Bronze finish. Besides satin black, we can paint a steel fender
in any color--dark reds and greens being the most frequently
requested.
